Project scope

Our team focuses on improving developer experience (DX) and productivity within a large Java/C++ monorepo by building and maintaining essential tooling and libraries in Python. We develop solutions that enable hundreds of active developers to work seamlessly in a shared codebase. Our responsibilities span a wide range of tools, including custom compilers, formatters, VS Code plugins, Jenkins CI/CD infrastructure, and web-based tooling integrated with Bitbucket for streamlined PR management. Project uses Bazel as primary build tool however project is not fully migrated as a big part still uses Gradle under the hood, only basic caching is applied etc. The team’s mission is to complete that migration as well.

Designing intuitive tools and libraries that enhance developer productivity.

Optimizing and integrating tools like Git, VS Code, Bitbucket, and Jenkins for large-scale codebases.

Debugging complex issues with no readily available solutions.

Ensuring our tooling is robust and low-maintenance, minimizing support overhead.

Effectively planning and managing tasks in a fast-paced development environment.

Team

Team distributed between Europe, and Asia. The direct project manager is based in the UK.

What we expect in general:

  • Strong experience and proficiency in Python.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript (especially React), C++, Java, Bash, or similar languages is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adherence to best coding practices.
  • Experience in designing libraries or tools for developers.
  • Effective communication skills.
