Project Overview & Engagement Profile
The cooperation involves maintaining, scaling, and optimising core on-premise infrastructure for a major global investment bank. The primary focus centers on driving the reliability and efficiency of essential developer tools and services — including Jenkins, BitBucket, and BuildBarn — for an on-prem installation serving a user base of over 10,000 developers. The delivery of services relies on strong system administration, deep networking knowledge, and automation. While 99% of the infrastructure is Linux-based, cross-ecosystem support covering Linux, Windows, and macOS environments is required. For engagements at a Senior level, the scope extends to leading the diagnosis and resolution of complex performance bottlenecks across this large-scale infrastructure.
Partnering with the core developer tooling team responsible for 30k+ developers within one of the largest investment banks. The focus is specifically directed toward LLM-based tools for developers — including evaluation, trials, onboarding, and customisation. Following the initial test phase, the project now scales to onboard thousands of new developers each week onto AI tooling. This involves close collaboration with vendors and in-house teams to ensure tools like Claude Code or Copilot CLI deliver maximum value. Deliverables include working on automations, setup, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and user support via running trials, validation checks, and handling technical escalations from existing support teams.
